James sent me this video of Kathryn spinning. I thought it was pretty cute so I am sharing. Enjoy. :)

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday didn't turn out exactly how we planned. It stormed the night before, and a tree in the backyard behind our house snapped and fell on the power line. We lost power some time in the night, and it stayed off all day long. Hubs and I each put in a few work orders to Oncor, but because of the damange the storm had done all over DFW they were in "disaster mode." We had planned to go to church, eat lunch with my mom, and have a get together at our house for James' side of the family. ...that didn't happen. Instead we went to iHop (I had wet hair, fun) and took a trip to Walmart. We came home so Mins could take a nap, and I napped as well. I can't tell you how long it has been since I've done that. When Kathryn woke up we took her outside to see her Easter basket. She was pretty excited about her flash light and the easter eggs. We moved our get together to James' aunt's house. We had an Easter egg hunt and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. It was fun and Mini had a blast playing with her cousins. By the time we got home our power was back on (YAY!) so I was able to give K a bath. The Easter bunny brought her crayons for the tub, and she absolutely loved them. Too much in fact, because she cried as soon as I pulled her from the tub. :) All in all it was a good day and a great weekend. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

A Visit with the Easter Bunny
James and I took Mini to Grapevine Mills Mall to see the Easter Bunny. There was no line (woohoo) but the Easter bunny needed to cool off (via fan) so we were putting the last minute touches on her outfit. The photographer was chatting with us, and said that he has been doing this job a long time, blah blah blah. He looked at K, as if he was sizing her up, and said that she "isn't going to do well." I just said "yea, maybe...last year she was great but she is pretty tired right now so who knows." James placed her in the Easter Bunny's lap, and she was happy as a clam! She smiled, tugged at his glasses, and I was so close to even getting her to kiss his nose! That photographer obviously does not know our sweet, outgoing baby girl! Look for yourself, does she look scared to you? :)

Birthday Weekend
I think I said in a previous post that I would start blogging twice a week....well I broke that. Oops. This past weekend was my birthday. Woohoo right? Well, now that I am over a quarter of a century, I am starting to just feel old. :) I know I'm not, but I still feel that way! My birthday was on a Friday, so I decided to take the day off and have a three day weekend to spend with my family. Friday morning we took Mini to McDonald's to meet my parents for breakfast. We played in the play area, which she is obsessed with now. It is so fun to watch her climb and discover new things. She is getting so big!
The day before I noticed a small rash on her neck that had been irritating her. I didn't think much of it, until it spread to her entire back, left arm, and left cheek. It was HUGE. I decided to be safe and take her to the doctor. She wasn't too happy about my decision.
Turns out they have no clue where the rash came from. Sweet. We do know it is a contact rash, and it isn't from strep throat. There is no telling where it came from...she has been so active lately, trying new things, doing new things, that we have no clue what it could be. The steriod cream is working, thankfully, and now there are just a few scratches left over (please ignore my hub's awful sunburn- that is the result of a temorary moment of insanity and lapse in judgement :) ).
On Saturday we walked around Southlake Town Square's Art in the Square Festival. After my hub's "incident" on his canoe trip (just think of a lobster, and you will know what he looked like for a week) we lathered up Mini with sunscreen to protect her porcelain skin. The festival had lots of art, food, and beer. We decided to let K "drive" and boy did she have a blast. I however forgot that the lack of stroller meant the lack of a bag holder, and my diaper bag is heavy. I got a jamba juice and offered Mini a drink. Honestly I didn't think she would like it, but after one sip she was hooked!
These next few pictures are from an app called Instagram. http://instagr.am/ You can take a picture with the app or edit an existing one with a bunch of different filters that make your pics look really cool. You can also follow other people's pictures and make comments.
Lately Mins has been really into her stroller, baby doll, and purse. I can tell her to "put on your purse" and she will actually put it on her shoulder! It is the cutest, proudest moment for a girly momma like myself. :)
Last night I gave K a pedicure. She was such a good girl and sat really still for me. Who am I kidding, she hated it and I had to bribe her with tortillas and the movie Tangled!
You know it is bed time when Kathryn ends up in time out. This has happened a total of oh 5 times probably. She was literally throwing her toys on the hardwood floor (big heavy plastic ones) and I told her no twice. There isn't a third in our house- James put her in time out. The hilarious part about it- she actually sat there, with her head down, until we told her to get up. She had the most pitiful face... it was everything I could do to not die laughing. As soon as we said she could get up, she went straight to her daddy and gave him a big hug and kiss. All was forgotten and she slept wonderfully after that. :)
My mom sent me this picture today. Nothing makes me happier than knowing how happy my baby is while I am at work! I am one LUCKY mommy.

Ball Pit Madness
This weekend I decided to build Mini an indoor ball pit. She loves balls, and she loves her slide, so what better than to combine the two? I searched all over HEB to find toy balls, and after 3 trips to Walmart and a trip to Toys R Us, I collected 750 balls. A lot, right? Well, we need about 400 more to complete but it's a work in progress. Do you think she likes it so far? I'll let you be the judge. :)
First time to watch Tangled....not too sure about it :) |

18 Months
Hubs and I decided to take Mini to get her 18 month pictures done, but instead of spending a fortune, we went to JC Pennys. I am not a big fan of traditional, studio pictures, but I am very pleased with these. Her outfit is a pillowcase dress made by Grandma K, and even has the letter K on the front. I can't believe the toddler in these pictures is my little baby, my Mini. She is growing so fast....it reminds me to treasure these moments forever.
