Home Improvements

Home improvements are anything but easy.  I don't have much experience with them, but the little I do I can tell you- they are exhausting!  Hubs and I decided to pull the carpet out of our bedroom because it was disgusting.  We have 3 dogs who have absolutely destroyed it- if they had upset tummies it would happen in our room.  Period.  I am a neat freak so this of course has been driving me mad for the past year and a half.  So finally hubs gave in and we ripped up the carpet.  Instead of replacing it with new carpet that will eventually become ruined as well, we decided to stain the concrete for a cheaper and easier-to-clean alternative. No big deal right?  WRONG!  OMG, what I thought was a 2 day deal turned into a 6 day deal with 5 nights on the couch!  I know right, awful.  But, I love it and it was worth all the pain and suffering (of my back :) ).  Now, if the dogs decide to throw up, I can wipe it up with a towel, and instead of vacuuming, I can swiffer!  Win win.  Check out the pics...this was all done by my amazing hubs- I love you babe!!!

Like my new rug? Animal print goes with everything :)

Now our closet doors just need to be put back on...hubs??

I think we are going to wait a little bit for our next project.... ;)

Valentine's Day Weekend

Last weekend was very busy for Mini.  Her friend, Lily, turned 3 and had a pajama birthday party at "Jump for Fun".  Imagine a giant warehouse filled with different jump houses and party rooms.  Pretty cool huh?  They had a play area for younger toddlers and Mini had a ball running around and touching everything.

One of  bounce houses was Elmo themed, which she loves.  I climbed in with her (there weren't any kids in it) and she immediately clung to me for dear life.  Talk about deer in headlights look!  Poor thing...she is just a little young for bounce houses.  Maybe next year!

The day before Valentine's Day, Mini stayed with her Papa so James and I could go on a date.  She was Papa's valentine that night. ;)

The weather has been so nice here in Texas that while I was at work one day, Daddy took Mini to the park near our house.  She had so much fun playing at the playground and riding around in her car.  These pictures made me very jealous!

Words cannot express the love I have for this picture ;)

Winter Wonderland

I'm a Texas girl, born and raised. That being said, I am not too accustomed to snow- other than my snowboarding trips I take once a year. Last Monday night, Mother Nature showed her ugly face and dropped tons of snow and ice on our sunny Texas state! I didn't go to work for the rest of the week- 3 days working from home and a PTO day on Friday. Sounds great, right? Well not so much. First of all, I'm not the SAHM type of girl. I love my job. Second, I didn't go anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE for 4 days straight. Talk about Cabin Fever! The only nice thing was the peace of mind that Kathryn was safe and sound in our house, and didn't have to be subjected to the horrible weather. I know some people got out and about, but I do not drive well in snow or ice. During that long "break", I took lots of pics, mainly of us lounging around in our PJs doing everyday things. Sounds fun, huh? :)

Cutest bathtime babe ever!

On Saturday night, Mini's Grandma and PaPa took us out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. Mini could not stop laughing at PaPa, he is so funny! Towards the end, she was trying so hard to laugh it sounded like she was coughing. This kid is too much! :)
