April has been super busy so far, so here is a recap of the important events.
Easter
Hubs had to work Easter Sunday, so Mini and I headed over to my parents house that morning to get ready for church. The Easter bunny left Kathryn a big Easter basket in the backyard. It was full of princess panties, a potty training book, M&Ms, a Dora microphone, and a Dora Easter book. We headed up to church, where it proceeded to thunder, lighting, and rain hard. Kathryn enjoyed watching the rain from the back of the church. After the service we headed home, and Mini took a nap while everyone else got ready for lunch. Gigi, Gigi Bob, Aunt Patti, and cousin Jackson came over to eat. My mom and sister thought it would be a good idea to wake Kathryn (I did not think so). She was not a happy camper, but slowly got to be in a better mood. We had a huge lunch, complete with strawberry cake. Hubs got to enjoy the leftovers when he came home. After lunch, Jackson helped me hide eggs in the living room (it was still raining). We all watched her have fun finding the eggs. She ended up with two baskets full! It was a great Easter spent with family.
Day Out with Thomas
This day was tons of fun! Hubs, Mini and I drove to Grapevine to ride the "real" Thomas the train. The train ride itself was about 25 minutes long, and we had a great seat with no windows so Kathryn could see all that was going on around her. When the train ride was over there was lots of other fun things to do. Train booths, a meet and great with Sir Topham Hatt, and a mini train ride were a few of the activities. At the end of the event, we went to the gift shop and Mini got her very own real train whistle. She loves it!
My Birthday
My birthday fell on a Sunday and hubs took off, so I got to sleep in a little and wake up to the picture below. How lucky am I? Mini helped me open my present, and thought it was hers for a little bit. ;) James made me my favorite breakfast, breakfast burritos with potatoes, and I got to go to the gym alone later (you know, to work off my breakfast). That afternoon we went to my parents house to celebrate all the birthdays; mine, my little sister Emily (the big 21), and my Aunt Patti (the big 50). We had B-BQ and 3 different cakes. One of my favorite gifts, out of all the wonderful ones, was a cement plaque that my parents helped Kathryn make me. It has her handprint in it and the year. So sweet and sentimental! It was fun to see all my family, including my grandfather who flew in from California. I am one blessed girl!
