This year our ski trip took place at Breckenridge, CO. We left super early Saturday morning and arrived around 8:30pm. Mini handled the drive like a champ, and was content with her toys, snacks, and Dora. That night hubs, my sister, her boyfriend, and I went out in the town to celebrate St. Patrick's day. We didn't last long; everyone was so tired from the drive that after a couple of beers we headed home.
The next day we woke up bright and early and headed for the slopes. This year hubs decided to try skiing (he snowboarded for the first time last year, but it was pretty difficult for him). He caught on really quick with the help of my dad and didn't fall once! I snowboarded with my sisters most of the time, and got a bunch of good runs in early. Hubs and I met up later in the afternoon and he showed off his new skills. :)
The second day my mom skied so James and I took Mini around the town shopping. We rode the gondola up and ate lunch with the whole fam. Kathryn was mesmerized by the view and kept pointing out the "tallest mountain." That afternoon we took Kathryn sledding. It was an adventure to say the least, and at about the third time down she got pretty scared and wanted nothing more to do with it. That didn't stop the rest of us who got a bunch of rides in. Kathryn kept pointing at each of us saying "It's your turn now!" That evening hubs and I made mexican food, and we had a HUGE meal. After that we went to town and got some delicious crepes that are the taste of the town. Good thing we burned lots of calories on the slopes!
The third day hubs and I skied some more, and he got even better. We did some more shopping that evening and packed for the drive home. Mini did fantastic again, and we got home around 11 pm. The dogs were SO excited to see us and didn't move from the bed all night. Kathryn was so happy to see her bed, and kept saying "It's Kathryn's room!"
The trip was so much fun, everyone came home in one piece, and I can't wait to do it again next year! In fact, we will be teaching Mini how to ski the next trip. Woohoo! :)
